Get Crafty! Mary Wollstonecraft art competition for Hackney and Islington secondary schools
Calling all art teachers in Hackney & Islington secondary schools!
Newington Green Meeting House: Revolutionary Ideas project and Hackney Museum are launching an exciting project to celebrate the life and work of Mary Wollstonecraft, Britain’s first feminist and famous local resident. We are asking secondary school students in Hackney and Islington to create a piece of art inspired by Mary’s story and her time at Newington Green. Ten entries, shortlisted by a panel of judges including the ‘Fandangoe Kid’ and the Mayor of Hackney, will then be displayed at Newington Green Meeting House in 2021. The winner will receive a £150 art supplies voucher courtesy of the Wollstonecraft Society and their artwork to be on permanent display in the Meeting House.
You have until December 11th 2020 to submit your entries!
